  My husband and I purchased a home in the Manors at Hastings Farms just over a year ago and the experience with William Lyon has been nothing short of miserable.
  
  It began with the William Lyon sales representatives promising us that we would be allowed to install an RV gate on the north side of our property (as this was the larger side yard. The side where they had installed a "double gate" was too small to put anything through it and they placed the A/C unit right behind the gate allowing for no storage room). We were told the additional gate would be "no problem, as another resident had already installed one as well". This was one of the main reasons that we chose the lot that we did (a corner lot - with the "corner lot" premium). After we closed on our home, the HOA (run by William Lyon still) said absolutely not and that it didn't matter what we were told or if another resident had already installed one; that was "an oversight" on their part.
  
  Next, our appraisal came in lower than the asking price and William Lyon refused to budge on price. Since we were within days of our closing, we forked out the additional money.
  
  Finally, a year in, we submitted for our one year warranty repairs and the majority of the work completed was not completed professionally. For example, we had a crack in one of our tiles and the tile company simply filled in the crack with grout, which is already cracking, instead of replacing the tile completely. We also asked that the paint on our house be touched up because we had shadowing areas where the painters missed. The painter came out to touch up the paint, but the paint was a shade darker, as our paint had already been fading for a year. The representative from William Lyon, April, came out to look at it and agreed that it needed to be repainted. A couple of days later my husband received a call from April saying that the supervisor had come by to look at the paint and that they would not be repainting the house at all.
  
  We have been VERY dissatisfied with the whole process. Customer service is CLEARLY NOT a priority to William Lyon Employees.
  
  I STRONGLY recommend you purchase from another home builder.
